Our team consists of some of the most respected scientists, doctors and experts in the field. You can read more about our team here. Our Chief Formulator, Dr. Andrew Levinson, spent over twenty years healing patients in his clinic and developed a passion for creating natural formulations based on scientific evidence. At his clinic, Dr. Levinson has been administering our CBD formulas with his patients for over three years. Their outcomes have been overwhelmingly successful.

Delivery methods of CBD and other cannabinoids affect the bioavailability of these compounds, in other words, how fast your system can absorb and process them.

We use “whole plant” extractions in our products which is widely acknowledged as more effective than CBD in its isolated form. We further boost the whole plant extraction by an activation process that is unique to each of our formulas. One example is fine-tuning the terpene balance to promote focus (or calm). We also blend natural remedies such as minerals and enzymes using proprietary methodology to increase effectiveness.

Our cultivation partners are hand-picked following a stringent selection process. We ensure their plants are harvested sustainably, without GMOs, and adhere to organic farming practices. Our principal US farm is in Oregon. We are constantly working to add best-in-class partners serving different regions around the world, and are currently going through the same diligent process in the European Union (Romania), and Canada.

Our partner farm follows strict organic practices. They are currently in the process of receiving their organic certification which will be one of the first organic hemp certifications issued in the U.S.

Depending on the formula, we may use MCT (Medium-Chain Triglyceride) as the carrier oil in our tinctures. We should note that MCT oil has its own benefits, one being that the calories contained in MCTs are more efficiently turned into energy and less likely to be stored as fat.

Each of our product labels display a clear list of ingredients.

Yes, all of our products are free of gluten.

Yes. The quality, purity and potency of our products have to meet the highest standards, above and beyond what’s in the industry and what the government requires. We validate potency findings through third-party labs. These unbiased labs independently analyze all of our products to ensure they are free of any microbiological contamination, pesticides, fungicides, plant growth regulators, residual solvents, and heavy metals. You can find our test results here.

Dosing and How to Use?

Every individual responds to CBD formulas and doses differently due to our uniquely varied metabolisms. While our formulas will help your body find its natural balance by activating its self-repair mechanism, we encourage you to listen to your body and experiment with dosing. A 2011 review on the side effects and safety of CBD states that continuous use of CBD, even in doses as high as 1,500 mg a day, is tolerated well by humans (1,500 mg of CBD translates to an entire bottle of our extra strength tincture). However, a higher dose does not mean more effectiveness. Dr. Levinson’s patients usually start with half a dropper.

A full dropper holds 1 ml (milliliter) of liquid.

It’s recommended to keep the tincture under the tongue or between cheek and gums for 60 seconds to achieve the best effectiveness.

CBD formulas work differently on each person. We welcome you to try our various formulas at different times of the day without hesitation. Our daytime formulas are completely fine to use in the evening and, depending on your own chemical makeup, can provide a sense of calm for example.

Just like the daytime formulas being ok to try at night night, you can try our evening formula during the day. Many of Dr. Levinson's patients alternate our various formulas at different times of the day including mornings. It’s surprising how different your CBD response can be as compared with other people. What’s important is to find what works best for you!

Everyone metabolizes CBD differently so a formula and dose that works for you may not work as well for someone else. So, age and gender matter as do many other factors including your diet, health conditions, daily activities, etc. In the development of our products, Dr. Levinson collected valuable feedback from his patients – all genders, young and old – which has guided his current formulations. We are confident that with a little exploration you will find the right formulas that work great for you.

Keep our products in a cool, dry, dark place. Do not freeze or refrigerate our products. Excess heat and direct sunlight will cause the effectiveness of formulas to degrade.

It’s best to consume our products within six months to a year. Since our products are all natural and made with no preservatives, in time, the effectiveness will start degrading, albeit at a slow speed.

We believe that consumers should be able to easily recognize how much CBD a product contains. You shouldn’t have to deeply study cannabinoid content, calculating how many milligrams of CBD are in each milliliter. Our strength bar gives you a good visual indication of this. Of course, we also print precise quantities on all of our products!

CBD & Hemp

CBD (cannabidiol) is a natural molecule found in hemp and cannabis plants which have a rich medicinal history going back thousands of years. Recently, doctors and scientists have been testing and confirming the therapeutic properties of CBD. A safe, non-addictive substance, CBD is one of more than 140 “cannabinoids”, which are unique to hemp and cannabis.

Terpenes are a diverse class of organic molecular compounds produced by a variety of plants. Their properties and fragrance vary greatly between different strains providing each plant with their unique aroma and taste. They have also been known to carry an array of medicinal benefits. Each terpene presents distinct, essential qualities of their own. Hemp and cannabis are very rich in terpenes.

When combining different terpenes with other natural compounds like CBD, their therapeutic effects can increase exponentially.

For a bit more insight, you can check our Quick Guide to CBD and Terpenes under our Learn section, and if you are curious about how CBD and Terpenes work in your body, we encourage you to peek in here.

CBD has anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, anxiolytic, and antipsychotic properties. Recent medical studies show that CBD can help with a variety of symptoms including stress, sleep disorder, and pain. Medical professionals use CBD to treat or compliment treatment for a number of illnesses such as a muscle disorder called dystonia, Parkinson’s disease, Crohn disease, and certain types of epilepsies. CBD has shown promise as a treatment for common side effects of cancer treatment, including nausea and vomiting. It’s been found to be effective therapy for anxiety, and it might help with short-term sleep problems according to medical papers. If you’re new to CBD, you may be puzzled by the variety of names. You might be wondering if broad spectrum and full spectrum are marketing buzzwords. So, are they the same thing? NO. Are they similar? YES. With one important difference; Full Spectrum contains a trace amount of THC (less than 0.3%), and Broad Spectrum has none (0.0%).

Then you have Distillates and Isolates. Again, they are sounding quite similar, right? In the case of these two types, they are completely different.

We’ve put together a brief article that digs a little deeper into the various types of CBD extractions.

CBD does not create any of the euphoria associated with THC; it doesn’t get you “high”. CBD from hemp with a THC content of 0.3% or less is legal in all 50 U.S. states.

THC, on the other hand, is the primary psychoactive compound found at higher concentrations in cannabis plants, aka “marijuana”. It will get you high. THC from marijuana is legal in a handful of states, but still considered illegal by the federal government.

Yes. Depending on the formula, our products contain other beneficial cannabinoids including CBG, CBN, CBDV, etc. None of the other minor cannabinoids in our formulas have any psychoactive effects. Please check our 3rd party lab test results page here for an in-depth analysis on each of our CBD products.

Safety Related Questions

According to a report from the World Health Organization, “In humans, CBD exhibits no effects indicative of any abuse or dependence potential. To date, there is no evidence of public health related problems associated with the use of pure CBD.” However, CBD can interact with certain prescription drugs.

For an in-depth analysis, we encourage you to check our article on Concerns about CBD.

The legal limit of THC in hemp products is less than 0.3%. We test our product rigorously to ensure our products never exceed this limit. Our broad spectrum products contain zero THC. Learn about the different types of CBD a little further down. However, generally speaking, just like the consumption of poppy seeds may lead to a positive drug test result showing opioids, the consumption of hemp products may lead to a positive drug test of THC. This is because THC is present in trace amounts in hemp plants. Although the risk is considered very low, we suggest consulting your health care provider before consuming any hemp products if you are subject to drug testing.

CBD-rich hemp plants have been used for thousands of years as medicine in many cultures; however, not enough clinical studies specific to breastfeeding have been conducted to make more conclusive claims. Thus, we recommend you to consult with a doctor to address your concerns.
